Stephen Moore was born in Marshall, Mo. and grew up in Oak Grove, Mo. He met his wife, Laura, at the student union at the University of Missouri, Columbia and they married in 1972 after they both graduated. He is the college and young career adult minister and Laura teaches kindergarten at Holcomb Elementary School.
They have 3 children – Joshua graduated from the U of A in Fayetteville in architectural landscape studies and is planning on going to SWBTS in the fall. April graduated in nursing from the U of A and is newly married to Bobbie Steeps; Christina has a degree in English from the University of Mobile. They own a beautiful and funny dachshund named “Sammy”.
Stephen graduated with a MDiv. from MBTS in Kansas City and has served in churches in Missouri and Texas as youth minister and served with the IMB in Brazil for 10 years. He has also served as collegiate minister and associate pastor of churches in AR. and GA. Currently Steve also works with Next Level Leadership of the NAMB and the BCM at the U of A, Fayetteville campus.
Q. What was your first vehicle?
A. My first vehicle was a bicycle at age of 5 and my first car was a 1959 black Ford Galaxie with spinner hub cabs.
Q. Why do you love FBC?
A. This church has a great legacy of caring about this community including the university campus and a heart for the Lord and missions here and around the world.
Q. What are your hobbies?
A. I have read a book every week of my life since I was 5 years old and enjoy being with people in all types of recreational activities. I hope to someday ride a motorcycle across the US and Canada.
